A day on the river Usk

Frank and I met up at 10am near the ancient stone bridge over the Usk at Llangynidr.  The river is wide at this point, with two islands splitting the river into many different currents, and broken up with rocks. It was good to spend the day with Richard at Trostry on the river Usk. Although any one who know the Usk will be aware of how fickle she can be especially early season.

Wow, what a day. I fished a new beat to me on the Usk today.
It was day that that promised much and then delivered. Its always nice when that happens.

I have spent the last couple of days fishing on the Usk and there have been a plethora of flies and insects on the water but which are the best flies to use on the River Usk?
