Wow, what a day. I fished a new beat to me on the Usk today.
It was day that that promised much and then delivered. Its always nice when that happens.

I have spent the last couple of days fishing on the Usk and there have been a plethora of flies and insects on the water but which are the best flies to use on the River Usk?

With March living up to a more normal pattern of weather fishing time has been limited to the few days between floods and even then there has been a fair bit of wind to contend with…

Fly fishing on the River Usk can be fantastic at any time but at the end of the season it can be phenomenal and this season was no exception with large hatches of sherrie spinners and sedge really bringing fish up to the surface.
