Personally, I look forward to the weather starting to warm up, giving me a chance to get out on the river or lake for a pre-season warm up with a couple of the other GAIA instructors providing an opportunity to share the winters thoughts on tactics, methods and fly developments and to blow away the metaphorical cobwebs.

One way you can get this early season lesson is to attend a fly fishing event such as the Game Angling Instructors Associations Open Day. This years event will be held a Tweedswood near Melrose in the scottish borders. Information about the day can be found here.
