Winter Fishing For Grayling.

December 7th, 2007

After a couple of days rain. I decided the rivers would be nice and fresh. I haven’t fished the Little Avon in a while so headed over that way. I stopped at the services on the way to get some fuel and while in the queue felt a right satisfying stretch coming on. Just at the summit of the stretch there was a crack loud enough for the chap in the line behind me to comment and my back was well and truly out.

Well! Cold water is supposed to be good for this sort of injury so carried on to the river.

When I got here I found it to be in good condition, unlike my back.

I fished for a about twenty minutes but casting a fly with a bad back is not so much fun. While to cold water had eased it , it was not enough. So after catching only two small Graying on a very pale olive gammerus I decided to head home and call up the Chiropractor.

Frank.
